grapes, published

a few years ago i went to linden vineyards for an afternoon of wine tasting. with camera in hand, i wandered around the vines taking pictures. it was an absolutely lovely day and i’ve always loved those pics, which were actually some of the first i ever uploaded to flickr.

about a month ago i received a request via flickr mail for a local publication to use some of the photos. i said yes – and received a copy in the mail yesterday.  “flavor” is a new magazine dedicated to local food, wine and sustainable agriculture in virginia’s piedmont region (flavormags.com).  it’s gorgeous and i was thrilled to see that the photo below spans two full pages (52-53) and two others were printed on pages 64 and 65. also cool to see the editor using flickr as a resource. cheers!

  1. Don’t know if they still do, but they used to have a wonderful blueberry patch as well. I got a huge container full there a “few” years ago:)

  2. that would be fun – I grew up blueberry picking in Maine.

  3. Congrats! That is awesome.

  4. Congratulations! Awesome pictures. Did you get any licensing fee?

  5. thanks everyone. no fee for this round. moving forward I’ll ask for either a fee or more promotion to my own online sites.

  6. Good for you – thats really cool.
